(Tumon, Guam) House Vice Speaker Lorenzo Deleon Guerrero took a total $2,451.61 in allowances in 2019, far less than many of his other colleagues. Congressman Luis Castro took even less, $800.
Mr. Deleon Guerrero and Mr. Castro are among Republican legislators, however, who refused to disclose the receipts of their spending of the allowances.
Mr. Deleon Guerrero asked for $2,500 in January 2019, which was adjusted down to $1,451.61. He took a second allowance of $1,000 in October 2019.
The $800 Mr. Castro took was for October 2019.
The gentlemen did not take any other allowances for any other months of 2019, according to documents disclosed by the Department of Finance from an Open Government Act request.
By contrast, their Republican colleagues in the House and the Senate, whom we have reported on thus far, have taken tens of thousands in allowances each.
