NEWS: Police investigating shooting in Piti

(Tumon, Guam) A man eating lunch inside his truck at Fish Eye Marine Park is lucky. Someone shot into his truck, though he did not hear a popping sound. According to the Guam Police Department, a pellet fragment was found lodged in the window of the truck. Police are trying to find the shooter.


Photos of the incident show the pellet piercing through the truck's rear window and appeared to have shot through the rear passenger seat headrest.


According to Piti Mayor Jesse Alig, "The Southern Precinct confirmed the driver was having lunch at Tepungan Beach Park when an unknown passerby shot a pellet gun at his vehicle. The driver proceeded to Toves Mart where he called GPD. No other information was provided."


According to the news release from police spokesman Sgt. Paul Tapao:

A check was made within the vehicle where the remnants of a pellet projectile was located lodged in the window.
A check was made to the immediate surroundings for any witnesses or evidentiary value, however none were located. As a result of this incident the complaint was not harmed.
