Feds to cover up to $9k in funeral expenses related to coronavirus deaths

Congressman Michael San Nicolas announced a Federal Emergency Management Agency program that provides up to $9,000 in funeral aid for families of those who died as a result of the coronavirus.

"With the tragic loss of life from COVID-19 part of the national disaster and global catastrophe that is this pandemic, it is a fitting and compassionate response for the federal government to recognize funeral costs associated with such loss as something that must be supported," said Congressman San Nicolas.

"We encourage all of our families on Guam who have suffered such tremendous loss to avail of this support as it is backdated and available to after January 20, 2020 of last year, covering up to $9,000 in expenses," Congressman San Nicolas concludes.
