(Tumon, Guam) Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands acting Governor Arnold I. Palacios has just placed the CNMI in Typhoon Condition 2, according to Kevin Bautista, spokesman for the governor.
Mr. Palacios, in placing the CNMI in this heightened state of readiness, has signaled to residents and businesses of the NMI that destructive-force winds from Bualoi are expected within 24 hours. He is asking NMI residents to prepare.
Typhoon Condition 2 also signals the closure of the CNMI government, except for essential services.

According to the Office of Civil Defense in Guam, Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero maintains Condition of Readiness 4 as of now. Janela Carrera, director of communications to the governor reports that a heavy weather briefing was conducted this morning at Civil Defense.
